Our diverse team of artists covers a range of styles, from illustrative colour to black and grey realism, black illustrative dotwork, Japanese, full colour realism, and traditional American. We can accommodate anything from your very first small tattoo to your ongoing back piece, sleeve, body suit, or cover-up. History
The Black Mark came to life in 2014 when a group of four friends united to bring their vision to fruition. They aimed to create a welcoming tattoo space that offered a tranquil escape from the daily bustle. After much searching, they found the perfect location in Northcote, which underwent an intensive renovation, sustained by endless crepes, Indian takeout, and unyielding hard work. Finally, The Black Mark opened its doors, becoming a reality.
The studio has since grown and now comprises two levels. The ground floor caters to walk-in clients and also serves speciality coffee, while the upper level remains a private studio, offering a serene environment free of interruptions.
Mick, Kitty, Fabz, Dan, and Elric are dedicated to their craft, and The Black Mark is a reflection of their passion. They are immensely proud of the welcoming and inviting atmosphere they've created and cannot wait to share it with you.
