Dan Mawdsley
Dan is an experienced tattoo artist with 14 years in the industry, specialising in pop culture and realism. Before finding his true calling in tattooing at the age of 28, he explored a range of different career paths, which helped shape his creative approach.
He previously worked in two Melbourne studios before joining The Black Mark team in 2017.
Since then, Dan has continued to grow as an artist through extensive travel, regularly attending tattoo expos and guest spots to learn from some of the industry’s best and refine his craft.
A self-confessed closet nerd, Dan loves connecting with clients over pop culture—movies, TV shows, music, art, comics, cartoons, anime, video games, and especially Star Wars. These themes are among his favourite subjects to tattoo, though he prides himself on versatility and enjoys working across most styles.
When he’s not tattooing or talking pop culture, Dan spends his time playing music, golfing, watching the NBA, painting, creating art, and staying active through the sports he loves.
